Nous accueillerons Fabien Roques\, Emmanuel Grand\, Guillaume Duquesne et Yves le Thieis\, de l’entreprise Compass Lexecon. \nIls nous présenteront les Impacts potentiels des différentes réformes possibles du système européen d’échange de quotas carbone (ETS). Leur intervention s’appuiera sur une étude d’impact menée par FTI-CL Energy de la réforme proposée par la Commission Européenne\, ainsi que de 5 approches alternatives pour la réforme de l’ETS : réindexation du cap sur les émissions vérifiées ; annulation de mise aux enchères de crédits par un groupe de pays « verts » ; neutralisation des réductions d’émissions induites par les politiques et régulations complémentaires de l’ETS sur l’efficacité énergétique et énergies renouvelables ; introduction d’un corridor de prix ; réforme de la réserve stratégique (MSR). L’étude vise à informer le débat sur les bénéfices des différentes approches pour la réforme de l’ETS en fournissant un éclairage quantitatif sur l’impact potentiel de ces réformes en termes d’émissions\, de trajectoire de prix du carbone\, ainsi que de la dynamique d’investissement et de déclassement dans le secteur électrique\, en s’appuyant sur une version du modèle Zephyr développé par la Chaire Économie du Climat combinée au modèle de FTI-CL Energy du secteur électrique Européen. \nRetrouver la présentation ci-dessous

DESCRIPTION:Le petit-déjeuner professionnel du 2 mars 2017 faisait suite à un événement similaire organisé en 2016 et visait à mobiliser d’avantage d’entreprises du secteur financier. Deux industriels étaient également présents\, ainsi qu’une association de grandes entreprises. \nLes intervenants ont convergé sur de nombreux points\, notamment sur les impacts opérationnels et les vertus pédagogiques de la tarification interne du carbone. Néanmoins cet outil semble hétérogène\, aussi bien du point de vue conceptuel que du point de vue de sa mise en pratique\, fortement conditionnée par le type d’activité de l’entreprise. Les débats autour de la répercussion des coûts du prix interne sur la chaîne de valeur et autour des interactions entre systèmes de tarification interne et externe à l’entreprise ont également ouvert des perspectives de recherches prometteuses. \nRetouvez le compte-rendu complet de l’événement ci dessous

Cette proposition de Joseph Alois Schumpeter (1912) a été plutôt confortée que contestée par les faits empiriques. Ainsi\, il existe un assez large consensus sur l’idée qu’encourager l’innovation devrait constituer l’un des objectifs prioritaires de la politique économique. Cependant\, de nombreuses innovations sont à l’origine de nouveaux risques\, notamment sanitaires ou environnementaux. DESCRIPTION:FLM#171 \nInvité de La Chaire Économie du Climat – Friday Lunch Meeting (FLM)\, le vendredi 19 mai à 12h30. Patrick Jochem\, professeur au Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT)\,  a présenté ses travaux de recherche sur The contribution of electric vehicles to greenhouse gas mitigation. Ce FLM a eu lieu en anglais.\n 19 \nThe presentation will show recent research from the research group “Energy and Transport” at KIT starting with projections of the market penetration by alternative drive train technologies. A comprehensive outline of how electric vehicles can be synergetic integrated into the electricity system forms the core of the presentation. This includes different perspectives: household\, decentral\, and central level as well as grid and generation. A focus in on which approaches can be used to measure indirect emissions (by power plants) from electric vehicles.   \nFurthermore\, the optimal allocation of fast charging stations along highways as well as stationary storages in combination with photovoltaic systems and electric vehicles in private households are presented.

Des définitions et des méthodes ont été proposées et des “applications pratiques” ont été publiées. Cependant\, en revenant aux applications de la vie professionnelle des praticiens\, il semble que le passage en pratique que les chercheurs demandent est encore difficile à mettre en œuvre. \nDans cette présentation\, nous discuterons de certains disparus dans l’arsenal conceptuel et méthodologique dans la manière dont la résilience est conçue et gouvernée et permettra de partager une analyse pratique de certaines politiques et stratégies de prévention des risques et de transition énergétique à cet égard. \nPlease find the presentation slides here

His research focuses on various legal aspects of the implementation of the carbon market in Quebec and Canada. \n\n[🇫🇷] Please find the presentation slides \n\nJacques Papy will present his current research work on the Western Climate Initiative Carbon Link Agreement signed by California\, Ontario and Quebec in September 2017. \nIn particular\, he will address the legal issues of the agreement for Quebec’s GHG cap and trade system as well as its articulation with Canada’s federal carbon pricing program. \nAbstract: The global digital transition is accelerating while the ecological transition is only contributing to it\, in the best case. This situation will not be sustainable for long. It is important to give ourselves as soon as possible a collective objective which would correspond in the end to what is required by the state of degradation of the Earth system.  \nHow to reconcile a radically reduced ecological footprint with the current plurality of our societies and their economic fabric? The answer is on the side of a permacircular economy: the strict respect of the planetary limits requires\, for the rich countries\, circular metabolisms\, but also a clear reduction of the material substrate of their activities – thus a decrease – and an opening to the the widest possible technological and social experimentation.  \nThis book proposes a detailed political and ethical framework aimed at progressively building\, in the respect of modern pluralism\, an authentically sustainable economy. Christian Arnsperger is an economist and professor at the University of Lausanne\, at the Institute of Geography and Sustainability. He is also a scientific advisor of the Swiss alternative bank. Dominique Bourg is a philosopher and professor at the University of Lausanne.  \nHe co-directed\, with Alain Papaux\, the Dictionary of Ecological Thought (Puf)\, and directed the collection “Ecology in Questions” and the online journal Ecological Thought. His doctorate focuses in particular on the issues of asset valuation in sustainable and environmental finance.\n \n▶ Find Olivier David Zerbib’s working paper :  \nIs There a Green Bond Premium? The yield differential between green and conventional bonds \n\n\nSummary: \nThe article examines the yield (or the cost of financing\, seen from the perspective of the issuer) of the green bonds. We use a matching method\, followed by a two-step regression\, to estimate the yield differential between a green bond and a synthetic bond in exactly the same way\, between July 2013 and December 2017. \nThe yield on green bonds is on average 2 basis points lower than that of a conventional secondary market bond for the total sample\, as well as for bonds issued in Euro and US Dollars. \nWe show that the main determinants of this premium are the credit rating of the issuer and the type of issuer: the negative premium is even more pronounced for bonds issued by financial institutions and for bonds with a low rating. .
