Title: La programmation énergétique au défi de l’électrification/Energy planning challenged by electrification

Abstract: While the share of electricity in our energy mix must double within the next 25 years, electricity consumption is declining and hopes of a rebound remain weak. What are the consequences for our decarbonization pathway? For the pace of deployment of low-carbon energy sources and the financing of the nuclear fleet? As France is currently in a situation of electricity overcapacity, can it really afford to forgo the deployment of new generation capacity? And what solutions are there to once again accelerate the shift from fossil fuels to electricity?
