Friday Lunch Meeting, Jean Jouzel and Pierre Larrouturou, April 27th, 2018

27 April 2018 @ 10h30 - 12h00

Program:
What if preserving our climate was one of the best ways to hold back the next Financial crisis? To save the banks, we put down 1 000 billions. Why not using them to reverse climate change?

Jean Jouzel et Pierre Larrouturou

With this book, climatologist Jean Jouzel and economist Pierre Larrouturou suggest a hands-on European finance-climate agreement, to cut CO2 emissions four-fold, deflate the Financial bubble and create 5 million jobs. The climate machine is dangerously steaming. There is only 3 years left to reverse the greenhouse gas emission’s curve if we want to save the youth from a climate that would be hard, even impossible to adapt to.

Yet, in the same time the world’s debt level is unprecentented, central banks feed speculators and everything seems to announce a crisis worse than 2008. To favor speculation or save the climate? The choice is ours.
