Europeans who scoffed at Britain’s post-Brexit shortage of fuel truckers are no longer laughing as they watch their natural gas bills go through the roof. And just as Covid-19 exposed how vulnerable humanity has become to taut global supply chains for such basics as pharmaceuticals and face masks, those same supply chains are now out of whack as the whole world puts in factory orders at the same time.
